Will Apple Kill 3D Touch?

3D Touch was the highlight of the iPhone 6s. An iterative phone with a unique feature. Since then 3D Touch has always been with us on every iPhone released except for the iPhone SE. Although 3D Touch never saw much fanfare again after the hype of its release, Apple over the past 3 years has evolved 3D Touch into a legitimately useful feature that many people love to use. I've seen multiple people lament about the lack of 3D Touch when they downgrade from a modern iPhone to an older iPhone like the 5c. So why would Apple kill off such a useful feature on it's iPhones that is unique and exclusive to the iPhone? They're not let me explain.

Apple Has Worked Too Hard On 3D Touch
Back In 2017 before the iPhone X launched the rumour mill was hard at work on what the new iPhone would be like. We'd get a new leak almost every day and one of the leaks said that the new iPhone would be delayed as Apple was having trouble integrating 3D Touch into the new OLED displays. Keep in mind before this point iPhones had only used LCD displays. Much to everyones surprise the iPhone X was indeed delayed by a month and it is not hard to imagine that this 3D Touch issue was one of the issues plaguing iPhone production. Here's what I don't get if Apple were planning on thinking about removing 3D Touch 11 months after they worked so hard to integrate 3D Touch into their iPhone, Why would they even put 3D touch on the iPhone X if that were the case!?

All Smoke And Some Fire?

We've been theorising about the removal of 3D Touch ever since the iOS 12 betas showed us that apple was bringing some 3D Touch features to it's non 3D Touch devices, like the iPhone 6, the 5s and SE. Notice something? All of Apple's non 3D Touch devices are discontinued devices which means that Apple's entire iPhone lineup  is currently 3D Touch enabled. Now looking at this information it would be logical to think that Apple is  planning on killing 3D Touch. But keep in mind no iPad has 3D Touch capability and so that kinda explains why 3D Touch replacements can be found in iOS 12 betas. That still doesn't explain why older iPhones without 3D Touch  are getting more and more 3D Touch features. Until you bring the 6.1 Inch LCD iPhone into the mix. The "Affordable" 2018 iPhone from Apple. By all means this iPhone looks like its going to be a great seller. It has a great design a huge display and it will probably be enough for most people. Just look at the iPhone 8 the cheapest iPhone of the 2017 lineup, the one with the single camera beat out its more expensive cousins for the top spot. It's not hard to imagine the 6.1 inch LCD iPhone being the iPhone 8 of 2018. With the great device that the LCD iPhone is shaping up to be, there's really not a lot of differentiation between the LCD iPhone and it's way more expensive counterpart. So it could be that Apple is planning on omitting 3D Touch on its cheaper iPhone to get people to jump ship over to the more expensive iPhone X and the iPhone Xs. Therefore I think that Apple is planning on killing 3D Touch only on the 6.1 Inch model

Why Google Is About To Pay Apple $9 Billion To Do Nothing

There's a saying as old as time itself, "Its about quality not quantity" this couldn't be more true for Apple. By no stretch of the imagination does Apple dominate the smartphone market. In fact it just got passed by Huawei as the worlds second largest phone manufacturer. With such a small market share, You'd think that Apple would be at the mercy of much larger and just as established OEMs. But as with many things in the tech world Apple enjoys an advantageous position in the market and that lets them do a few things that most if not all other OEMs can't do at scale. From making a chinless phone by bending an OLED display to making $150 dollar wireless headphones that would have most likely failed had another company made them. This vantage point given to Apple by its grip on software and hardware and it's almost cult like following has made it a force to be reckoned with.I mean they're about to sell their 2 billionth iPhone , With such a huge ...

So Which Is The Best Browser For Your Mac?

With all the chrome bashing that's been going on of late, It got me wondering and a bit jealous cause I was missing out on the aforementioned Chrome bashing. Does it really matter what browser you use? I mean they all fundamentally do the same thing, It turns all the ones and zeros of the internet into things that you can actually read on your screen. But as is turns out a whole lot of things have to happen for your favourite website to be displayed to you, In the shady back alleys of code that our browsers run on, It turns out that each browser does things a little bit differently. So what are our options? The Three main browsers that we'll be taking a look at today will be Safari, Firefox and Chrome.  Safari Safari is the browser that comes with your iPhone or iPad or your Mac as we are discussing in this case. It's a fast fluid responsive modern browser. It's my browser on choice. Safari a few things going for it. First off it's a first pa...

Why I Love The iOS Files App

iOS has long been guilty of being terrible with files, You had third party file managers that promised to give you a great files experience. But most of them fell pitifully short, some did almost come close to being good but none came close to the flexibility and power that a file explorer on Android, Windows or MacOS could ever hope to give you. That all changed with the introduction of the files app on iOS 11. Why Bother With A Files App? Apple has been talking about  replacing the PC with an iPad for quite a while now and to truly replace a PC you need a few desktop features on iOS which is primarily a mobile OS. Ask anyone and they'll tell you that the ability to manipulate files is one of the most basic things that you'd expect a computer to do. After all one of the first GUI apps was a file explorer. So it makes sense to bring over the file explorer to iOS. But you just can't port finder over...
